The Corona Pandemic is an almost intangible challenge for all of us. Even though we seem to have overcome the general lockdown for the moment, many things still have slowed down and everything is far from normal. DESY MicroTCA Technology Lab has swiftly responded to the tough situation and established a detailed hygiene concept which made it possible to welcome our partners and customers in Hamburg again. The first MicroTCA Basic Training course under these conditions was well received this July, and we are very happy to announce additional dates:

Are you aware of the latest products from the DESY MicroTCA Technology Lab? The current developments have been finalized, and we are about to introduce two new Advanced Mezzanine Cards: the single FMC carrier plus IO board DAMC-FMC1Z7IO and the dual FMC carrier board DAMC-FMC2ZUP.


IO-Controller Board with FMC socket

The DAMC-Z7IO is a cost-optimized IO controller board with one FMC socket. It can be operated in a standalone mode without the need of a CPU module. Our new product comes with a Xilinx Zynq7000 SoC including a Dual-Core ARM Cortex-A9 Processor and offers a flexible clocking system with front panel SMA connector for external clock input. With all its features, this board is a good supervisor for operating FMC, RTM or IO device, either in a standalone mode, or in a larger MicroTCA environment in industry application, or in a scientific environment.

High Performance FMC/FMC+ Carrier Board

The DAMC-FMC2ZUP is based on the high performance Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC from Xilinx and it is a Dual FMC/FMC+ Carrier Board with full backplane and D1.1 RTM connectivity. It incorporates a flexible clocking scheme and front panel high density connectors for external clock input. White Rabbit support is also provided. The front panel features a USB type-C Alternate Mode Display Port connector for improved user experience and standalone mode operation. These features make this board well suited for highest performance data processing applications, such as artificial intelligence applications, real time image processing and big data analysis.

MMC Stamp

It is as tiny as a stamp and it provides a complete solution for the MicroTCA Management on your custom board.

For customers developing their own MicroTCA boards, our Module Management Controller Stamp solution should be of great interest. This tiny module provides a complete hardware and software solution to manage the target board in a MicroTCA environment. It provides full access to the power system, manages the FPGA and further board devices, and enables support for Rear Transition Modules (RTM). Using our new module enables to fulfill the MicroTCA standard and will result in shorter development time and therefore remarkable cost reductions.
